Located at GBU Songshan Lake Campus, the School of Physical Sciences (SoPS) emphasizes interdisciplinary studies with an initial focus on materials science & engineering, physics, and electronic science & technology. Looking ahead, SoPS will fully leverage major innovation elements of the Songshan Lake Science City, Dongguan and the GBA for development. We will collaborate with scientific research institutions (such as the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory), large-scale scientific facilities (like the Spallation Neutron Source, and forthcoming advanced attosecond lasers and synchrotron radiation sources) and prestigious universities (including the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Sun Yat-sen University) to develop disciplines and train high-end talents, towards supporting local industries such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and new energy in their upgrading processes.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to stay at the forefront of physical sciences, encourage cross-cutting research, strive for excellence in research and education, foster global collaboration, and contribute to the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area and the globe.
